Q - What additional parts might I have to purchase with my appliances?
A - There are several appliances that require additional materials to complete the installation - here are the most common examples: A) Range hoods will require a ducting kit; there are various types depending on the hoods to decide on. B) Gas appliances require gas fittings (hoses and regulators) that are often supplied by the gas-fitter installing the appliance C) Several refrigerator brands do not supply the plumbing and filter kit with the Ice & Water feature, and these need to be purchased separately or supplied by the installer.
Q - Do I have to unpack my appliances?
A - Once you have taken delivery of your new appliances you need to check them for damage or any signs of mishandling by the freight companies. Ideally you should check the packaging for damage, and remove the packaging to inspect the appliance for physical defects. This procedure should be done immediately after you have taken delivery, as prolonging the inspection greatly reduces any chance of a successful claim through the freighting companies.
Q - Why can't you supply an appliance I found online?
A - Not all appliances are suitable for NZ conditions - this may be due to climate, customer expectations, regulation issues (e.g. energy ratings) and cost. Many appliances are manufactured for specific global regions and how that region uses these appliances; this may not suit the NZ conditions or customer expectation. Also, to import one appliance for a specific request would require an importer to stock spare parts and educate staff on this one appliance model, which is not cost effective. Kitchen Things stock over 35 brands, with thousands of models; contact us with your request as we WILL have the ideal alternative.
Q - How do I clean Stainless Steel?
A - Not all cleaners are created equal! Whilst there are many cleaning products on the market, some may cause damage to your stainless steel appliance. We recommend that you use a Eurocloth to clean all your stainless steel in your kitchen and around your home. This damp cloth has a special fibre that will pick up dirt and grease (finger prints) without the use of solvents or scrubbing. The Eurocloths are available from all Kitchen Things stores and are recommended by most major appliance brands.
Q - Can I get additional discount without the finance offer?
A - It is a breach of the Consumers Guarantee Act to offer a lower cash price than the finance price. Therefore Kitchen Things offers 100 days interest free and deferred payment on all cash prices we offer to our clients. This is a handy tool to help you get the appliances you love into your new home at the right price. Our finance is via GE Credit Line and conditions apply (see in store).
